Memories Scribed can preserve your photos and memorabilia in a customized Heritage Scrapbook.

Memories Scribed Scrapbook Service is designed to showcase your photos and to allow their story to be “scribed” and told.  Pages can range from little journaling to lots of journaling either visible or hidden.  Your scrapbook pages can also have as many embellishments as you desire.

Memories Scribed will not cut or use your valuable photographs. We work from high quality scanned prints. We recommend that you then store your photographs in a safe place in an acid free box. If Memories Scribed scans your photos, we will include a CD with those photos for your additional safe keeping.

INITIAL CONTACT

Once you have decided to have a custom heritage scrapbook that will be treasured for generations to come, you can contact Memories Scribed to begin the process. You will be asked detailed questions regarding the focus of your customized scrapbook, where you would like to meet if you live near Cincinnati, Ohio or when you would like to have a phone consultation if you don’t live nearby.

ORGANIZE YOUR PHOTOS AND MEMORABILIA

Once you have decided on the theme of your customized scrapbook (i.e. heritage, holidays, military, recipe, vacation, etc.), you should arrange all of the photos that you want to be included in the scrapbook in the order you want them to appear. The photos don’t need to be in chronological order. Scanned photographs are to be scanned at a resolution no less than 300 dpi. Scanned photos can be sent electronically.

If you are having difficulty narrowing down which photos should be used, we can sort through them together. Or you can mail the photos to us, and one of Memories Scribed’s scrapbook artists can choose which will work best in the layouts. You can use ALL of your treasured photos, however, they may not all fit in one scrapbook.

When mailing photos to Memories Scribed, photos need to be grouped into zip lock bags with dates and pertinent information included on scrap paper. (Do not use post it notes and do not write on the photos.)

Photos not used will be mailed back to you with your completed scrapbook.

PURCHASE YOUR SCRAPBOOK AND EMBELLISHMENTS/ACCESSORIES

You can find scrapbooks at local scrapbook stores, craft stores, etc., as well as online. Make sure that the scrapbook is acid and lignin free. Most albums come with 10 page protectors allowing for 20 scrapbook pages. If you know you will want more than 20 pages in your scrapbook, you can purchase page protectors ahead of time. They typically come in packs of five or ten.

If there are specific stickers, scrapbook paper, embellishments that you know you want in your scrapbook, you can also purchase those ahead of time.

You may opt to, instead, have Memories Scribed purchase ALL the different papers, stickers, tags, ribbons, embellishments, etc. for your scrapbook. (Which will be discussed at the initial consultation.)

MAIL ITEMS TO Memories Scribed

Mail your photos in a photo-safe envelope or folder, memorabilia, along with your scrapbook, any stickers / embellishments / papers / page protectors you want in your scrapbook, and a copy of your customer agreement, which is signed and dated.

Pack the envelope of photos into a small and sturdy box so that the photos and other items do not shift.

Memories Scribed suggests that all photos and memorabilia be shipped via insured registered mail. Finished scrapbooks will be shipped to you via insured registered mail as well.

If you are paying by check or money order, please include the deposit of 50% of the total estimated price, made payable to Memories Scribed. You will receive an email verifying receipt of your materials.

CREATION OF YOUR CUSTOMIZED SCRAPBOOK BEGINS

Once our bank clears your check, you will be e-mailed the plans for the first couple pages. At this time, you can make any changes or suggestions. If you have any ideas from magazines or the Internet, you can e-mail or fax those to Memories Scribed as well.

You will be notified via e-mail with scans or photos of your completed pages.

UPON COMPLETION OF YOUR CUSTOMIZED SCRAPBOOK

After your customized scrapbook is completed, you will be e-mailed the final bill. Once payment has been received, all the pages in their protectors, assembled in the scrapbook will be mailed to mailing address of your choice using certified and insured mail. You will be sent an e-mail notifying you of the date your scrapbook was mailed and a bill for shipping charges that are due upon receipt of your scrapbook.

RETURNS

Now that you have received your customized scrapbook, you have 7 days to contact Memories Scribed concerning any changes that you want us to make. Memories Scribed will completely re-do a maximum of two pages at no charge and we will make changes on a maximum of four pages. The customer incurs all return shipping costs. Memories Scribed wants you to be completely satisfied with your treasure!

Please ship your scanned photographs along with the signed document permitting Memories Scribed to create your scrapbook. If Memories Scribed is to scan your photographs, we will contact you with a quote before doing so. There will be no charge for minor photo restoration. Should extensive work to restore or repair your photographs need to be done, we will provide you a written quote prior to the work. We strongly advise you to send your material requiring insured and signed delivery required. Scanned photographs are to be scanned at a resolution no less than 300 dpi. Scanned photos can be sent electronically.

$20.00 PER ADVANCED 12 X 12 PAGE INCLUDES:

• Each photo is cropped (unless otherwise specified) and matted or double matted.

• Up to any six embellishments from the list below.

$25.00 PER DESIGNER 12 X 12 PAGE INCLUDES:

• Each photo is cropped (unless otherwise specified) and matted or double matted.

**One to four photos typically fit on one 12 x 12 page. And, fewer photos will fit on smaller albums and brag books.
